Video: Murray defeats Djokovic in Cincinnati 2

This is more the Andy Murray we’d hoped to see in the Rogers Cup in Toronto. In the course of forcing world #1 Novak Djokovic to withdraw with shoulder pain yesterday at the Western and Southern Open (and interrupting Djoko’s incredible winning streak), Murray played this brilliant point, above.

As Djokovic moves inexorably toward the net, Murray is forced back, and you sense that he’s done…until he salvages things with some great backhand work, setting up the coup de grace past a tired and out-of-position Djoko.

Don’t count Murray out at the US Open. Or Djokovic.

Djokovic did very well this year, i am glad to see Murray in great form,to see him winning the Cincinnati of luck for him for the rest of the season,
Still hoping to see Rafa-Roger final if it is possible for the US Open.

I’m with you, Imelda – glad to see Murray playing better this week than he did in Toronto (he seems like a really hardworking, likable guy), and also wanting to see Rafa v Roger in the final. With Djoko’s shoulder acting up, maybe this is possible.
