This telling line from Will Graves’ Pittsburgh Penguins-Nashville Predators game report in The Globe and Mail: “While Radulov might have become the best player in Russia, Malkin has developed into arguably the best player on the planet.”
The game – won 5-1 by the Pens – was closely watched because it marked the return to the NHL of Alexander Radulov, the Nashville Predator who spent the last three years tearing up the KHL (two MVP awards and one championship).
But while Radulov scored tonight, it was his team’s only goal. Malkin got two, wingman James Neal added four assists, and the Pens rolled to another lopsided victory.
Pretty tough to bet against them coming out of the East in next month’s playoffs…
