Sachin Tendulkar retires from one-day cricket


Goodbye, Sachin… for now.

The great Sachin Tendulkar, aged 39, has announced his retirement from one-day cricket matches to focus what remains of his career on playing Test matches for India.

“I have decided to retire from the one-day format of the game,” said Tendulkar. “I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup-winning Indian team.”

Tendulkar is the world record holder for one-day international caps (463), runs (18,426) and centuries (49) and is also the world record-holder in Test match runs (15,643) and centuries (51).
