Matt Barzal profile

Matt Barzal, forward, Canada

Barzal is making an immediate impact for Canada’s Junior Men’s team in the 2015-16 World Juniors, scoring the Canadians’ first goal against the USA and showing strongly all over the rink.

Those who have followed his career from Coquitlam through the Burnaby Winter Club to the Seattle Thunderbirds aren’t surprised: Barzal has a history of coming up big in key tournaments.

Watch for him to pattern himself in the next few years after another great Canadian Junior – and future teammate in Uniondale – John Tavares.
