Mitch Marner scored the only two goals in Toronto’s 2-1 win over the Sabres and I’m not sure which was the smartest. In both cases Marner seemed to do things that surprised his opponents. In the snapshot above, Marner is pictured scoring his first goal. He had cycled the puck behind the net to Bozak and then looped back to the edge of the crease to tap in Bozak’s return pass. Marner is young and small but his hockey IQ is already making him a key contributor to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
