Judge the pass, finish the move. It’s a process for all strikers. And with 12 goals in 10 games, Gonzalo Higuain makes it deadly.

Nice timing from Nike in publishing this tutorial with Higuain having hit three hat-tricks in his last four games. Perfect strike. Perfect storm.

Love what Rooney says about working on his finishing on his own until it would get dark outside.

Great player that Pedro. Too often forgotten due to all of the talent at Barcelona.

But according to Youtuber Sappa9702 Pedro is the club’s best finisher:

“Pep says pdero is the best finisher at the cub, hard to say no to that…”

I didn’t know that Pep rates Pedro so highly. Maybe that’s why they let Bojan go and Ibrahimovic before him.

Of course they did go out and buy highly sought-after Chilean Alexis Sanchez from Udinese.

What riches they have at Barca – Check out that video and see how Pedro can finish…

So why did they buy Sanchez?…

This little vid from our man D10 reminds me of the best coach I ever had – an old Croatian guy, who once led Marseille to the French title. When this guy came into our team, he asked us all for our boots, put them into big garbage bags and took them home. When we got them back, our boots were barely recognizable: tongues had been cut off, laces shortened, Adidas stripes removed, plastic filed down. He basically stripped away all unnecessary materials to make our boots lighter and sleaker and more suited to the relationship of the foot to the ball. The boot doctoring was shocking to us at the time but it was such attention to detail that caused us to become better players under the crazy genius of that coach.

As you can see in D10′s video on the de-lacing of the Nike Mercurial Vapor Elites, doctoring a pair of flashy modern shoes can go wrong.

But I have to applaud D10 for this experiment. Bravo D10! Way to think differently about your boots!

While it can be risky, we should all be questioning the make-up of our boots and other aspects of our game.

Believe it or not, paying attention to little details like lace covers can actually make you a better player.
