“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good soccer. I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’”
From signing the contract to setting up Lionel Messi’s Super Cup winning goal and everything in between, this is a beautifully presented story of Cesc’s homecoming.
It’s not in English but there is not a lot of talk and there is actually quite a bit of English music (Is Barca trying to save on the cost of translators : ) ?).
Watch this long but lovely video for the visual story.
I really liked the moment where Cesc is playing man-in-the-middle in training with coach Pep and also seeing him at the end celebrating the winning goal with the Best Player in the World, Lionel Messi.
You watch that beautiful video and listen to the music and you wonder how on earth such a great club let such a great player go.
Maybe the song suggests just how painful it has been for all of Barcelona to watch “every move” Cesc Fabregas made in England with Arsenal when he could have and should have been doing it in a Barca jersey.
But Barca have corrected things now.
FC Barcelona are “more than just a club” and they have produced more than just a video.
It brings a tear to the eye to see Cesc in his youth like that and now returning home almost like the prodigal son.
There will be many tears of joy in Barcelona today, no doubt.
