Cesc Fabregas

What part is better?

The pass?

Or the finish?

The Messi?

Or the Fabregas?

It’s all good.

All great.

All beautiful.

Have we ever seen such a team, such a collection of players, such football ever before?

I quote Galeano:

“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good soccer. I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’”

Thank you Cesc.

Thank you Lionel.

Thank you Pep.

Thank you, Barca.

Sincerely,

Galeano.

From signing the contract to setting up Lionel Messi’s Super Cup winning goal and everything in between, this is a beautifully presented story of Cesc’s homecoming.

It’s not in English but there is not a lot of talk and there is actually quite a bit of English music (Is Barca trying to save on the cost of translators : ) ?).

Watch this long but lovely video for the visual story.

I really liked the moment where Cesc is playing man-in-the-middle in training with coach Pep and also seeing him at the end celebrating the winning goal with the Best Player in the World, Lionel Messi.

(Dubbed in English)

So interesting to hear that despite winning the Cup Barca players do not feel they are fit yet.

Could they possibly play better?

What a team. What a collection of players.

Fabregas number 4 Barcelona jersey

Get them while they last

The Fabregas Barcelona jersey is now available > here.

The club that is “more than a club” / “mes que un club” did not miss a beat today in introducing Cesc Fabregas as their new signing.

There was > the press conference

There was > the stadium unveiling of Fabregas to the fans

There was > the beautiful, tear-inducing  Youtube video documenting Fabregas’ early days with the club

And there was > thankfully, the availability of his new number 4 jersey in the Barca Shop.

Mes que un jersey!

Get them while they last.

You watch that beautiful video and listen to the music and you wonder how on earth such a great club let such a great player go.

Maybe the song suggests just how painful it has been for all of Barcelona to watch “every move” Cesc Fabregas made in England with Arsenal when he could have and should have been doing it in a Barca jersey.

But Barca have corrected things now.

FC Barcelona are “more than just a club” and they have produced more than just a video.

It brings a tear to the eye to see Cesc in his youth like that and now returning home almost like the prodigal son.

There will be many tears of joy in Barcelona today, no doubt.

This is quite a homecoming.

“Benvingut” indeed, Cesc.
