Kessel has the quickest release in the NHL. He’s on a tear these days, at the top of the scoring…with only 78 games left.

He also has among the quickest feet. Same cannot be said for Kessel’s Leafs teammates last night v Colorado. The big, fast, young Avs beat the Leafs to many pucks and intercepted countless passes. Maybe the Leafs didn’t give them enough respect? Or maybe those Avs prospects are just better than those of the Leafs? I sat on the couch with my wife and in the first five minutes of watching the game predicted that the Avs would win in OT. Even that early on it was looking like the Leafs would not figure out that the Avs were a step ahead of them (see Franzon let his man go for the OT winner)…
