It’s going to happen tonight in Winnipeg, we know. The only questions are whether Stevie will get one or more, and whether his goal(s) will factor in the result of what is in every other way a meaningless game.
The video shows three reasons for Stamkos’ goalscoring success: his quick-release wrist shot, his positioning on the ice near the net, and his great hand-eye coordination (check out the #1 goal, cued up last, in the reel).
As a point of pride, the Jets will be doing whatever they can to keep Stamkos off the scoresheet. But they won’t. Bet on it.
